9 Epic SEO Scripts

Theres a lot of script kiddy chaff out there, so I thought I would group the good stuff together a bit. Here are the nine most memorable seo scripts I have within my short-long term memory, they are all php based and are all written by people whose blogs you should be reading. I personally have used them all at times, often re-writing chunks, personalising and cross server environment modding. This is what you should do with all scripts, learn from them, re-write them your way and give back where possible. Don’t just use - understand them, otherwise your just another fool! Enjoy.

I might even release a few of my modified/self written over the next few weeks…hmmmm..

Hey bud - thanks for the kudos on the PingCrawl modification. What exactly still needed some tweaking? :)

    No Worries!

Well I will stick my version on here in a few weeks - basically I added a quick filtration system because ocassionally when you stick words like “download” in (as title) it finds cracks/warez sites. Removed footprints/personalised, made it use curl instead etc.

All good though I am trying it out a few places.

    Epic … I’m blushing.
    Thanks :)

When you get it finished up, send a trackback over to my post and I’ll approve it. I always encourage progress! :)

I’ve released a hacked version of this that uses cURL so it should work with most shared hosts (I’ve tested it with Dreamhost, Media Temple, and HostGator).

It also adds a settings menu that lets you choose between title, tag, and category as the basis for the Google search, allows you to choose how many links to post, and whether to verify the target sites accept pingbacks.

I prefer not to verify that pingbacks are accepted, for three reasons: 1) I get better quality results 2) It seems like most of the pinged sites were “bait and switching” - they appear to accept pingbacks but the pingbacks aren’t posted (and even if they do they’re probably using “nofollow”). 3) It slows down posting.

Dude, those links are freaking awesome!! Nice work!!

    I posted about it too…freaking sweet (dofollow… ;) )

p.s. That PingCrawl looked interesting, can someone explain it in a little bit more detail what benefit I would get from using it?

@klintron - yeah my version does this too - as several of the places i keep this stuff is shared hosting. settings look nice too but I think the other stuff might be good to keep?

@communibus - what did you post about? the proof is in the testing - we shall see. eh?
